Let the Music Take You!

Growing up and listening to his dad.

The best advice he ever had.

Cause it did not just stop with this young boy.

It has been lived and now in a book for all to enjoy.

Seems he learned through observing and doing.

Soaking up the ideas his Dad was giving.

Always guiding him with gentle care.

Seems so wise that who would dare,

To stand in the way of a boy and his dad,

While giving the tools of life to this lad.

The boy sat by as his dad played a solo.

He followed along as far as he could go.

When all the sudden he played music not there.

The boy asked why, while his dad paused without a care.

He said I am adlibbing or improvising you see.

It is what you do when you add liberty.

The little boy thought and did not know it sinked in,

But lived in his mind from that day on with a grin.

Cause when he asked his dad “Is this creative”, too?

The answer was “yes”.  That is when you “Let the Music Take You!
