The Green Light
The green light was overshadowed by the dark ray of cultured sunlight.
A sunlight not designed by God, but by the pre-determined imaginations of man.
Who knew that a baby born to such simple, unsuspecting parents would someday save the world?
Breathless, ageless and born of royalty and plainness,
He appeared helpless, yet overcame all obstacles.
A baby born in the midst of worldly chaos,
Would be the one who would someday save us.
He grew up and learned like the rest. But it soon became evident,
He was God’s only son, the best!
As time went on…some loved him. Some hated him.
He continued to do all his Father instructed, paying no attention to them.
One thing he understood, was that this world was not his home,
And one day he would give his life to save us from the devil and his kingdom!
I wonder if I can ever comprehend a portion of the suffering he went through.
His life was a sacrifice of love and suffering that covered the sins of me and you.
The green light he provided. The open door is there,
But the dark ray of sunlight provides an open snare.
All the world offers won’t even compare,
To the glory that awaits us as we stand with him there!
A new kingdom and a new earth reveal
the reason for his timely birth.
Keep guard of his light that was green from the start,
And hold it close as the keeper of your heart.
He’s done the work and now it’s our turn
To rest in his accomplishments and be open to learn.
If you believe he was God’s son and know he was raised from the dead,
Then you are saved from the world’s sunlight and the hold of the devil’s hand.
Keep your eyes on your savior and the God who loves you so.
It’s His way of being with you, when through this life you go.
